![]() Every quest NPC will have 10+ paragraphs of dialog explaining why you need to kill a monster right outside their house. The writing is decent but there is -so- much of it. The game becomes less about your strategy and more about what cheesy tactic you can abuse to win against insurmountable numbers. You'll be cruising along with your stack of archers hitting for 100 damage, then suddenly the enemy will have 3,000 bears in a troop stack, each with 150 hp. Especially once you hit the mid/late game and enemies will have ludicrously huge numbers in each troop stack. Graphically the game manages to have aged gracefully thanks to its cartoonish/animated style.Ĭombat difficulty is all over the place. We are sent forth by the king on a mighty quest to acquire treasure for him. In KB we play as the Hero of Endoria, picking either mage, knight or warrior as our profession. Based on the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise (which is itself based on the ~original~ King's Bounty released over 30 years ago), KB nevertheless gained a cult following for it's unique strategic gameplay.
